GS GOODFELLOW #202403 -- 2000 NATIONAL GRAND CHAMPION RED POLL BULL
I was fortunate enough to have been able to purchase Goodfellow as an aging bull from the late Steve Scott. The close bond that had existed for years between Steve and Goodfellow was obvious from the tears on Steve’s cheeks as we loaded Goodfellow for the trip to his new home in the Ozarks. Goodfellow’s first eleven calves born on my farm were heifers. This, along with the purchase of five additional bred cows and heifers from Steve Scott and Wayne Fish, made it possible for me to easily make the transition from a mixed breed to an almost exclusive Red Poll Herd. Although gone, his outstanding genetics live on and, as a matter of fact, he is the maternal grandsire of Casper my current herd bull. He was truly a “Gentle Giant” and I consider it an honor to have played a small part in his life.
